In recent years a shader mod specially made for BF2 came out and It is  recommended to use over HDGraphicsMod. Download Shaderpatch instead, if you can run it and my configs.

Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) Screens

Graphics Mod FAQ & Readme.txt

When I start the game I see a black screen / the game crashes.

Try disabling Discord overlay. Another possible fix is to right click the .exe then go to compatibility tab and uncheck all options.

I start the game and nothing changes, how do I turn the Graphics Mod on?

The mod starts AUTOMATICALLY with the game, if it doesn't show a text in the upper left corner you did something wrong.

• Help, when I use your Graphics Mod I see [X] on my screen! (X= cubes, colours, graphic errors, etc.)

Check if your graphics card is compatible with Reshade, this never happened to me so I have no idea what's wrong. The mod has thousands of downloads and less than a hundred error reportings. So in proportion, you are an exceptional case, I'm sorry for that but I honestly don't know how to help you. I can only advice you to search "your hardware + reshade" through the internet.

UPDATE: Since the beggining of the mod I recorded that this type of errors are mainly found in Laptop GPU, AMD cards and aged PCs not able to fully run BFII. I still don't know how to fix this, since I never found them in the 3 PCs I work on but that are the most probable causes of the problem. Hope this helps.

My game lags with the Graphics Mod! / Make a version for slow PCs!

I installed the Graphics mod but it doesn't look like your videos

No, this should be very clear. What this mod does is adding "shaders" / post processing the game. it's something modern games use, and it works like an Instagram filter... the photo is the same you only post process it. So if you use my mod but you have the vanilla version of the game it won't look like my screenshots. I use various mods along with mine which alter models, fx and more. You should investigate SIDE mods, which add new units, projectiles and content in general.

How do I uninstall the Graphics Mod?

If you want to uninstall the mod you need to delete all the files you placed in your GameData folder. If you don't remember which ones delete d3d9.dll, MasterEffect.h, ReShade.fx and MasterEffect folder.

► USER SOLUTIONS

In this section I'll post solutions provided by users, which I haven't tested myself but may work on your PC.

Error 0xc0000005 and game crashes on startup (Laptop GPU FIX)

"Fixed my compiling effect problem. This helped  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109"
Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)

Error 0xc0000005 and game crashes on startup

Option 1 : "Rename "battlefrontII" to "battlefrontII.exe" in the GameData folder"

Option 2 : "Under the compatibility tab it was set to run in compatibility mode for windows 7. But turning this off completely lets it launch now."

My recommendation : try different compatibility settings.

Graphical Errors : Pink pixels all over the screen / random crashes

"Installing a DirectX End User Runtime Installer from this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109  solved the problem. Although, I did have to uninstall the game first, run the installer, and then reinstall the game to get it to work."

Readme.txt for versions 1.0 , 1.5 and 1.5b

• Installation:

Move the content of the "GraphicsMod" folder into your GameData folder. This means you enter the folder, copy all the files (d3d9.dll and the others) and paste them to game directory. The files must be in the same folder where "BattlefrontII.exe" is. Replace all existing files.

If you did this correctly, you start the game and there should be some text in the upper left corner. The mod starts automatically with the game, you don't need to turn it on!

Trigger key in game: F11 (buggy, you need to try several times).

• Troubleshooting:

1) Game lags, long loading screens: Most likely you need better hardware, you have too many mods or something installed wrong.

2) Graphics Error: Update drivers, reinstall game, try reshade in other games.

If you still have issues, It's beyond my comprehension. May the force be with you,
